Amelia Wainwright is a thirteen-year-old from the quaint English town of Highcross, who has lost her spark following her father's disappearance a year ago. All she wants is her father back and to be the person that she used to be. After she discovers a secret room hidden behind a bookshelf in her father's study (accessed by playing "The Entertainer" on the piano), she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime, discovering that he was not a rare book dealer, but instead a secret agent. Armed with a high-tech smartwatch which is capable of transforming its wearer into any animal, Amelia and her best friend Sebastian must work alongside her father's agency, the ICID, to rescue her father and now kidnapped mother from Celine, a dangerous criminal whose plans threaten not just the Wainwright family but the entire world.
Amelia soon discovers that the watch cannot simply be removed, and every transformation risks becoming permanent. If Amelia cannot stop Celine in time, the consequences will be disastrous. If she cannot control the watch she risks losing herself entirely.
