When a great white shark attacks during a community swimming event, Emma calls the one person she has spent eight years avoiding: Alex Warren, shark researcher, the man who put her in the water that left her scarred. Alex arrives with expertise she needs and a history she isn't ready for.

But as the attacks escalate and the bodies mount, Emma begins to see a pattern that points not to the sea, but to a pharmaceutical company with green credentials, clean hands, and something buried on the seabed.
